"A MIRACLE IN LEGACY JOSHUA CONYERS' DEBUT ALBUM"

Joshua Conyers debut album titled A Miracle in Legacy with pianist Chelsea Whitaker will be released August 2nd, 2024. This project is my story of living in shelters, drug abuse, and violence in my childhood home but I am a survivor. This album is my journey from poverty and strife to thriving as a father, husband, performer, and educator. This album is not just about my life but a celebration of black creators, musicians, and our excellence. Compositions by Shawn E. Okpebholo, Carlos Simon, and a commission piece by Emmy Award winning composer Jasmine Arielle Barnes with poetry by Deborah Mouton. This album also incorporates African American Spirituals by world renowned composers Margaret Bonds, and Hall Johnson. The first single is from the song cycle A Miracle in Legacy: I. Never More Than Nothin’ which will be released July 19th, 2024. This album will be released on all major platforms. © ℗ 2024 Lexicon Classics

NEWARK BOYS CHORUS SCHOOL
Joshua Conyers visited the Newark Boys Chorus School in Newark, New Jersey. Mr. Conyers shared with the students his experiences growing up in the South Bronx and Virginia with parents and siblings who struggled to maintain themselves in an often hostile neighborhood. Joshua performed a negro spiritual Ride on King Jesus by Hall Johnson and the boys sang several selections. Mr. Conyers has made a commitment to the school by joining the Young Professionals Advisory Board and will return to NBCS to mentor the students.
